Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've posted something. This is troubeling me...
My best friend has invited me to Hvar (a little island in Croatia) and she is really excited about the trip. She has a house there and she doesn't have a clue about my problems. Last Summer I refused to go, but now I really want to.
The problem is - I'm too scared!!![Ugh]
I keep thinking over and over again about my symptoms and what will happen IF I pass out...don't get to sleep at night...panicking...being sick...
I know I have to stop thinking about it, but I can't help it!
The other problem is my little sister. She started crying when I told her I will be away for 4 days...
Now I'm not sure whether I should go?
Does any of you ever had anything simmilar?
Any reply will be much appreciated :D

I went home to Newcastle to visit my Mum.
(Although a trip to Newcastle is nothing compaired to getting on a plane and things.)

I really wanted to go, but I didn't .
What if I got in to a state, What if I had to come home ?

So I set off on a 3 and a half hour car journey.
I have to admit it I was scared.
Once I got going it wasn't half so bad as I expected.
Admittedly I did stay in a hotel overnight to break the journey in half, but I did it.

I used lots of deep breathing and herbal medication.
I made sure I had my panic kit with me, so if things did get too much I could distract myself.

Wanting to go is half the battle. Don't let the what if's stop you.
Try not to think about the bad stuff. If you think about the good stuff, like taking photos and site seeing, instead. You will feel a lot better about the journey.

Good luck, and most of all have a great time.
If you click here, you can see the photographs I took while I was on holiday. http://members.lycos.co.uk/stimpsoncorner/chlest.htm

With hard work and determination and all the things you know.
The world is there for you to take. There's nowhere you can't go.

I definately think you should try and go. I think you will really regret if you don't. I've been to Hvar and loved it, it's really beautiful. Have a great time if you decide to go!!

Hi Ana,

can you talk it all through with your friend beforehand? Then she would know what to expect should you become very anxious.

You should go though, it will be a lovely break from the normal as long as you prepare well and take anything you might need - relaxation cd etc.

We were in Dubrovnik a couple of years ago on a cruise and loved that area so much we plan to go back one day.[8D]

Good luck,
love Tess x

Hi! Wow! Hazel, I didn't know you've visited Hvar...
I WENT!!!!!!! And, know what, had a lovely time! But (there's always a but) I came home 2 days before I planned to leave. I just couldn't take the fact of being away from home any more. So, I took the boat and went home on my own...
Hvar is really really beautiful and I'm hoping to go there again!
Oh, and, I've told my friend about my problems! FOR THE FIRST TIME SOMEONE KNOWS!!!!!!!! I feel much better now.
She was confused a bit but she understood and supported me.
Thank you for your support!
Love to you all!
Ana
