Worried about prostate cancer. Major PSA spike.
My doctor just started checking my PSA last year due to family issues and it was under 1. This month, a year later, it was almost 14! I'm in a huge state of panic. Having trouble sleeping. Wake up worried about it. With the holidays I probably wont hear from my doctor for several days but I know this will mandate a biopsy and or image testing. I'm just in my mid 30s so its extremely rare, but that kind of spike has me terrified it has come on fast and aggressive. I cant find hope for an alternative. Everyone else talks about 7 or 8s as high. My number is nearly double...

14 is higher than it should be. But it’s not mega, it can get into the hundreds.
Is there a family history of it?

Father has battled enlargement for years but never above like a PSA of 7. His father had cancer in like his 70s.
Just a few months ago I had to have a colonoscopy and apparently the doc checked prostate and wrote it was without palpable mass. I'm really hoping there's still a chance it's just some bad infection or something.

In younger men prostatitis is more common. This causes a psa rise. If it’s bacterial they can treat that with ABs. Non bacterial prostatitis is more difficult to treat but neither is cancer.
You are a little young for BPE (enlargement) that usually comes with age.
