Dry Retching/Heaving

Hi Guys
I suffer most mornings before work in the way of a stuffy nose and cant seem to stop clicking my ears.
This ends in a bout of dry retching and the all too present breathlessness aftrwards.
After I settle down and get myself towork I'm OK for the rest of the day.
Anyone else get this or similar?
I've been experiencing Anxiety/Panic for about 2 yrs now since my son was killed in a car accident and over this time it has changed from Phobia to health anxiety.
All help muchly appreciated

I am so very sorry to hear of your awful loss. How awful for you and your family.

As for the retching, i have this many mornings when i feel blocked, i get up, glass water and brush teeth, i onlyget this when i wake anxious though, so it must be related to that and not anything else to worry about. take care and keep in touch.

Thanks for the quick replies.
I thought it was anx related but it gets so debillitating I was hoping there was a physical cure.
As far as counselling goes Yes I have been and it really helped.
It all started with a full blown panis attack but I was back at work in 12 months and the counsellor said shed never seen such a quick recovery.
Every day is still a battle though with new symptoms popping up all the time.

I'm sorry to hear about your dreadful loss. I can't begin to imagine how awful it must be for you.

What you could be suffering from could well be a simple case of morning congestion / blocked sinus.

My husband is always suffering from a stuffy nose and clicking ears, followed by dry retching and occassionally coughing up phlem.
It lasts for a while and by the time he is up and dressed it has gone away.

Have you tried decongestant spray ?

Thanks for the advice.
I've tried nasal spray but it only seems to help slightly.
I smoke. Does your husband? Does he suffer anxiety?
Sorry if thats personal don't answer it but I'm just trying to figure it out.

So sorry to hear of your tragic loss.. Phill.

If the nasal spray does help it may be that your airways are getting quite dry at night and that you need to try to keep yuour mouth shut when asleep or turn over to prevent much snoring if this is an issue for you.

A humidifier can help or just a couple of minutesbreathing in some steam .
