st johns wort

hi, im on st johns wort and was wondering if anyone else has used it and if it helped them at all???? also does anyone know how long i take it for or is it until you feel better??

I have been on SJW for nearly 2 years combined with Vit B complex, Vit C and Omega 3 and it has made a lot of difference to me. Tried Cipralex and lasted 4 days due to the anxiety of taking them.
Have taken SJW in the past too and it has always made a difference.
Don't know how long u can take them for as I have always stopped when I feel better, but you must come off them gradually not in one go.

I've been taking SJW since April, only stopping briefly on 2 occasions when I tried anti depressants, but each time I returned to using SJW as I found the benefits much better.

My GP says as it is working I can stay on it for as long as I like.

I don't think there are any risks associated with long term use as long as you stick to the recommended dosage (I take 3 a day). Apparently after a while you can often reduce dosage and still get the same effect, but I can't comment on this.

For me, they are the best thing I have found and I'll take them until I feel fully "back to normal" (which may mean I take them forever!).
