hi,
i have been getting pains in my chest and pins and needles in my left hand and foot,
i thought straight away heart attack or stroke.
i have been checked over by many doctors,
they all say im fine.
but i feel like im about to pop my clogs.
im only 19 and have had a lot of stress.
but its scaring me so much now its unreal.
please help,
oh by the way i have been told anxiety but can these symptoms be possible with anxiety???
Hi Martin - yes, all of those symptoms really can be caused by anxiety. I think if you've been medically checked and given the all-clear, then you can be assured that it anxiety that is creating the symptoms you describe. Have a look at the Symptoms page to the left of the forum, you'll see them listed there among many others.
You're young, and the doctors say that you are healthy - try not to let it occupy your mind too much. Concentrate instead on managing your anxiety and dealing with its source. :flowers:
Hello martin leebee is right those symthoms can be caused by anxiety and are very common symthoms.. i know its abit scary but it will not hurt you. stay strong martin :hugs:

I would try not to worry too much about all of that even though it's scary. I actually started getting my anxiety/panic attacks with the very same symptoms as you, and I was also around 19. One day they were so bad and came out of nowhere that my now fiance took me to the ER because we thought I was having a heart attack because my heart was also beating really fast. Everything was fine, and it turns out I had a hyperventilation attack.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I completely understand how you feel. Just please try not to worry about it - I would hate for you to have a hyperventilation episode like I did.

today i walked to my local jobcenter to sign on.
and half way there had a thumping heart beat.
then i felt week and had to have a embarresing cry in front of half the street.
im scared cuz i have a son and have just had my new flat.
i have a lot to live for defornatelly.
and i spose i just have to imagine its something a lot less worst.
someone made a point of diabetic today.
not sure though.

Hi Martin i went through exactly the same thought process as you 6 months ago, i thought i was dying despite 3 docs, a neurologist and MRI scan telling me i was fine. I had very bad weak moments nearly every day, these are just a type of panic attack where your blood sugar drops, i bought a kit to monitor my Blood sugar as i to thought diabetic but all was normal.
Its all about finding the right person to help you. I eventually found a fantacstic psychiatrist who prescribed venlafaxine for 3 months and explained everything that was going on in my body. Im now 80% better and off meds and contemplating the rest of my life and what career to take (my old career was very stressful so i have had to give that up)
If you can get a person who knows what they are talking about and you trust im sure you will start to get better.
By the way on the venlafaxine front thats just what worked for me after trying 3 or 4 meds. There are a lot of people who have had negative experiences on it so dont automatically think its the answer, im no doctor but i think you need to speak to your GP about your options in regards to a course of meds to help you out in the short term.
