Well in my opinion i would say YES. Phobia is a fear and anxiety is a symptom of that fear, so they pretty much go hand in hand.

I would say they are. I have social phobia, I even had a huge panic attack at home on my computer when tryuing to get into the chat room for the first time, because i was so anxious and phobic - and for goodness sake - i was alone in my house and panicking about meeting people in a chat room!
The fear is people and the anxiety is cause by the fear of what will happen when you meet people, what will they do to you, will they hurt you etc (sometimes the root questions are so subconcious it takes time to work out what they are.)
