Co-codamol with Mirtazapine and Citalopram??
Hello All,
Hope everyone is doing well this evening?? It has been a long time since i have posted on here since i started taking Citalopram and Mirtazapine but i just needed to know if it is safe to take 500mg of Co-codamol whilst taking these?
Im on 15mg of Mirt at night and 20mg of Cit a day, my doc gave me the Co-codamol for pain relief so im guessing it should be ok but could make me slightly drowsy??
Help much appreciated.
Thanks,
HB x

Hi Hunni,
It is not uncommon for those drugs to be used together but it can cause drowiness. As a Technician I would suggest that you don't drive if you feel drowsy and also try to take the least amount as possible i.e 4 a day though you can take up to 8 in 24 hours.
Cheers

Re: Co-codamol with Mirtazapine and Citalopram??
Hi, I have been taking co-codamol 30/500 for over a year, for a hip complaint. I was on sertraline, but that gave me terrible headaches that not even the co-codamol could stop. I was put on Citalopram 20mg and I took 20mg daily, and up to eight co-codamol. There wasn't really much in the way of side-effects from the interaction, although I am probably immune to the effects of co-codamol now. They didn't make me feel sleepy. I have just been put onto 15mg Mirtazapine as well, taken my first one five minutes ago, so we will see if the sedative effects work or not.

Hi Skybird - that's early to take Mirtazapine.
