I use to take lorazapan occasionally and ran out. My mother in law has citalpram. Are they the same thing? Can they be taken every now and again and take effect immediately?

No they certainly arent. Citalopram is an anti depressant which take weeks to work! Lorazapam is the same as valium etc. You need to go to your GP for a prescription.
