Hi all!!
I am seriously thinking about taking 5-htp as I have had another set back and was wondering what the side effects were on taking 5-htp. If there are any does it happen quickly after taking it and does it last long??
I am quite phobic about taking tablets.

The only thing i had was nausea for about a week however this may have been due to the fact i was really depressed & anxious.

I found that after a while I started waking up very suddenly in the middle of the night and was unable to fall back asleep. Strangely though it's as though the sleep you do get is more dense. I got irritated though and cut back the dose. You may also want to take it at a different time of day. I was taking it at night. I think it really works though.
5htp no longer seems to be working for me. my depression has set in again for first time in 4 years!!!!
Should i give up taking it.....or up the dose?? Only been taking 50-100mg a day. Anxiety seems to be much more under control, but the ill health obsessions have returned :o(
