I have social anxiety so my doctor gave me propranolol 80mg tablets.
I take 1 in the morning, and one later in the day.
When in town i feel very faint and sweat a little from fear of fainting, i guess you could say i felt weak.
Most people i read about have 10mg, 20mg etc, my dose is 80mg and i wonder if halfing it may be beneficial to me?
Personally i have not been put on that med so am unsure how strong it is etc but the ones i have been put on my doctor starts me out on 15mg so 80mg straight away seems very high to me. If you feel its too much you can try less or just give the doctor a call and see how you go.

I'm taking 80mg aswell although I started off on a lower dose. Ive never had any side effects from propranolol though. Maybe try a lower dose?

I can't tolerate high doses at all, felt pretty much like you describe. Think about going back to your doc, explaining how you feel and asking about a lower dose.
I took 40mg twice daily for two weeks and it really messed up my blood pressure. Ask your doc if you can be switched to a lower dose - I doubt you need to be on such a high dose straight away, you could gradually increase it or something.
Yes, it is a bit high to start off with but your doctor obviously thought it was appropriate. If you're really struggling then go back to your GP, but remember these meds do take time to settle - usually a few weeks.
the only 80mg propanadol you can take are day release witch means you dont get all the drug at once ,it releases just the right amount during the day to keep your adrenalin gland stable and to help panic, if you feel its to much your docter could put you on 10 mg 3x a day ,i found this much better hope this helps
