Anxious about rice (Bacillus Cereus)
I bought a packet of rice and cooked some about 5 months ago. While cleaning today, I found some of the cooked rice which must have fallen behind the cooker..
Would this bacteria survive that long?
Does all rice contain Bacillus Cereus?
I read somewhere that cooking it ago 100degrees centigrade wont kill it! I normally overcook my rice so would that have done it?
I used a dettol wipe but I am not sure if that is effective or not.
ps: I never used to see rice like chicken but I handle it the same way after reading an article in a paper.
Re: Anxious about rice (Bacillus Cereus)
I would assume the cooked rice will have dried out after all this time and your not going to actually eat it are you:D. It is amazing how some people live in the most disgusting conditions and never catch anything so you have nothing to worry about.
I won't handle raw meat without disposable gloves on and then I disinfected everything that might have come into contact with the meat.

Thanks for the reply and I like your thinking about the meat - I am the same!
