Lorazepam and Cipralex, How Long/How Much? and Sleep.

I've been on Cipralex for two months now for depression, started on 10mg with no affect, I was actually experiencing greater suicidal thoughts and frequency, my GP increased it to 30mg about three weeks ago and I've noticed a great improvement in my mood. I am, however, having a lot of difficulty sleeping. I'm not sure if this is a side effect as it has always been an issue for me, it doesn't help that I'm a crisis worker (ironic I know) and work shift work.

At the same time as my initial prescription I was also given a script for 0.5mg of Lorazepam to take as needed, for anxiety and sleep. I've heard of how addictive this can be so I try to use them as infrequently as possible. I have found that the 0.5mg has little effect on helping me sleep. The other night I made the mistake of taking 2mg, I slept for 36 hours!!! What are the risks of Lorazepam addiction if I'm not taking it regularly? Also, how long should I expect to be taking the Cipralex after I "feel better"?
