Mood Swings
Is mood swings part of anxiety? Or could it be bi polar depression? I ask because on Friday night I seemed fine, then quickly after just one discussion on the phone my mood changed (as I started worrying about flying) I just spiralled into despair. yesterday I felt really worried still but I think this was due to crying so much on Friday night & not getting asleep until 3am. However, later on in the evening my mood just seemed to improve really quickly & I felt so much better & positive. This morning I still felt okay. I felt in a great mood infact - felt really positive - then later on this afternoon I started to feel anxiety again - started letting negative thoughts creep in again. I'm like this quite alot - some days I seem to swing from negative to positive in the blink of an eye. Is this just part of PD & anxiety? Does anyone else ever feel like this?

yes i feel like this quite often, it can be from someone saying or doing the wrong thing, or sometinmes for no real reason, whether it is anxiety or depression symptom i dont know. Depression mood swings tend to be more like the cloudcoming to sit on your head for the duration of a mood and tends to come on more gradually though usually. Like all mental health issues, we live in a very unpredictable world.

Hi
Dont worry this is typical anxiety. It is very common for our moods to change quite rapidly but it is definetly not bi-polar.
My moods can change depending on what thought happened to come along and how I reacted to it.
Having anxiety means we are quite responsive and a particular conversation may trigger off a reaction - like your telephone conversation about flying, merely talking about it set off reactions.
