Medication phobia help!! surgery in 8 weeks!

Hello! My name is Ashley and I'm new to this forum.

I developed pharmacophobia (fear of meds) about 8 years ago when I had a panic attack while taking vicodin. the fear is so bad I don't even want to take advil or natural supplements.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have surgery in 8 weeks that's gong to be a spinal and IV sedation to remove endometriosis and ovarian cyst...I'm in a great deal of pain all the time. I'm scared because of my phobia and that I'm going to die!!!

Please help ease my mind if you've been through this type of phobia and what did you do to overcome it?
