Citalopram and paracetamol?

Can they be taken together? My leaflet says not to take it with painkillers, is that all painkillers?

I'm starting to get the side effects now - i've had a stonking headache all day!:scared15: Mind you, i've not been anxious today (first time in a while) don't know if it's the citalopram starting to work, probably just the pain keeping my mind occupied!

You shouldn't take ibuprofen with Citalopram, my pharmacist was very insistent on this. There are a few meds you cant take when on Cit, basically anything that has a direct effect on the stomach, if you're unsure about any meds ask a pharmacist, they can check online to see whats best to avoid.

There was one med I have to take once a month so i aske him to check and he said big no no, glad I asked!

PS paracetamol is fine, not as good as ibuprofen for pain I admit but anything to avoid internal bleeding!

Paracetamol was my best friend when I got some grizzly headaches when I first took cit :yesyes: I'm always worried about taking more than one type of table around the same time though :blush: So if I had a bad head around cit. time, I stuck it out for a couple of hours and took paracetamol a bit later after a slice of toast.

I am prone to headaches as I get cluster headaches. I saw a neurologist recently who prescribed me some calcium blockers and some painkillers for when I get a bad attack -- these can be taken also for migraine, and so I asked him if it was ok to take these with cit, and he said its fine. Although these are painkillers I'm not really allowed to use too much

Anyone else feel a bit weird after taking paracetamol while on citalopram?
