Is this a symptom of depression
Does anyone have the desire to do things like hobbies or things you like but just can't get yourself to do them? always putting off? is this a common symptom of depression? You find you will do the simple things but when it comes to something that involves much more effort and time it is just to much?? Thanks....
Re: Is this a symptom of depression
Yeah I find that too - it just seems too challenging or extreme, or I'm worried I'll get anxious while I'm doing them! I think it is a bit of a symptom of low mood tbh
Re: Is this a symptom of depression
I thought it might be. Thanks :)
Re: Is this a symptom of depression
Oh yes, had years of this, always having a reason but not realising what I was doing.
I feel I missed out on loads of things with avoidance but trying to make up for it now in a low key way.
GOod luck

Yep defiantly get this, no energy or enthurasum to do anything. Used to enjoy life now I don't see the point in anything. Always worrying and panicing about the littlest things. Life is hard sometimes.
Hope you start feeling better soon

I do all the time. Putting things off until I'm "in the mood." Procrastination is my downfall. Maybe you need another person to do these things with?
Re: Is this a symptom of depression
Yeah that is a good option - an accountability team! Shall I start a thread where we have weekly goals? Let me know if you think that's a good idea. Don't want it to be pressurising, but we could all gently support each other - even if it's just tiny things like 'I brushed my teeth today' - we all know how hard that can be when we're in pain...
Re: Is this a symptom of depression
Yes, if you think it's a good idea! There's safety in numbers as they say.
I just noticed buffbot, that the thread description sounds like one of those self help advertisements :)
