Question about upping dose

As you know i was recently taking 5mg of Cipralex, the doctor decided to up my dose to 20mg, by taking 10mg for 3 days, then 15mg for 3 days and then starting on 20mg.

Well at the moment i am on 15mg and due to start 20mg tomorrow, i was wondering if going up like this from 5mg to 20mg will make me feel worse initially? and make me alot more anxious and panic more?

The reason i ask is i know when you start medication you get side effects and feel worse for the first week or two, is this the same when upping doses?

I would have thought if this was going to happen it would have happened with the other increases so try not to worry too much

Thanks Joy, The reason i ask is because i am feeling very tense, restless and also i feel a little panicky, especially at night, i don`t know whether it is due to my throat problem or because of the increased dose.

probably a bit of both!!!

Try some breathing exercises and watch some rubbish Tv of play some games on the arcade to take your mind off things.

Hi - I haven't taken those drugs but was another type and went up 10mg. The side effects were no way near as bad as the initial start on the drugs. I did have some effects but they went quickly.

P.S. Do not do the Scrabbleblast game unless you have 5 hrs to kill..... you lose days on that game x
