white spot at the back of last upper molar
Hello everyone, I have been perusing the forums for a while but this is my first post. Ii have been having throat/globus/gerd problems for a while.
after my last ent appointment (last week) he prescribed over the counter prilosec and sleep with upper torso elevated.
I admit the globus sensation has been reduced a lot but now yesterday I felt like I had food stuck in my gums and when I checked my throat in the mirror I saw a white growth right behind my last upper molar. I'm a 42 year old female and also an ex smoker.
I'm worried out of my mind this could be oral cancer, since I just saw it yesterday I dont have a dentist appointment yet but I will call first thing in the morning. Does anyone on here has experienced something similar? I'm really scared and I have noone to talk to about this.
Re: white spot at the back of last upper molar
Just wanted to update in case anyone else has a similar problem. I just came back from the dentist and she said it was completely normal, it’s not a growth. She explained that the back of the molar where the throat starts has glands and tissue that are yellowish colored so that makes the tissue look white/discolored but it’s nothing abnormal. That takes a huge worry off my mind, I’ll just focus on keeping my gerd symptoms in check, sleeping with head elevated, taking the prilosec etc. I just wish the globus sensation went away completely and my hoarseness went away too. God luck everyone
