Can i take nytol with fluoxetine?

I have been on these anti d's for 6 weeks now. My dr also gave me some sleeping pills which are amazing but I know I can't be prescribed anymore due to risk of addiction. So thought I would try some over the counter meds instead.

Does anyone know if I can take nytol?

    Thanks

    Hi Lizzie

Yes it does get better. I felt absolutely awful during the first weeks but am feeling a little better its just sleeping that is the problem.

Hopefully Nytol doesn't interact with fluoxetine , hopefully someone will know. If not I am going to see my dr on Tues so I will ask her then

    Hope you are ok.

Hi Mogwog, a pharmacist once told me I couldn't, but from what I've read since I'm not 100% sure she was right. Definitely one to ask your doc x

Hmmmn, you should be able to take it because it's herbal but still best to ask a dockie or pharmacist IMO.

I thought it contained valerian which isn't supposed to be taken with SSRIs cos it makes you excessively sleepy... May do the trick hehe

I have today asked my doctor and two pharmacists about taking shops own brand sleeping aids with prozac, they all said that taking

    Night time Sleep Aid Tablets
    Sleep Aid Tablets
    Nightcalm
    Sleepeaze 25mg Tablets
    Asda Sleep Aid Tablets
Numark Night Time Sleep Aid 25mg Tablets
    Superdrug Sleep Aid 25mg Tablets

    which contain.

    Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride BP 25mg

can be taken with prozac. But all warn that it should be a temporary measure.
