Fishman, sorry for the confusion. It wouldn't surprise me if I am on the spectrum too but every psych I've seen has said no. It would make it easier for me to accept myself if I were to be given an official diagnosis but I think that I've just got so used to coping with autism that I've adopted that way of thinking too. I didn't realise that you had got family members with autism-I hope they are not too badly affected.
My mistake Pulisa, though ultimately labels don't really help us anyway do they. Crikey you do really well, having anxiety AND a family member being autistic. My nephew is 29 now and in a residential home, he became too big and strong for my sister and her hubby to deal with. However the home is surrounded by woodland which my nephew adores, he loves turning over logs etc to find slugs and worms.
Two of my grandsons aged 10 and 7 are on the autistic spectrum. The 10 year old also has ADHD and anxiety. He has an obsession with timing and food in that it has to be the same food every day. I often wonder, is autism more prevalent these days or is it simply that people who were 'different' were shut away from the public? The latter I suspect.
Aquilegia, I've done some floating today as well. Though I still managed a 30% water change on the fish tank. Well done to everyone for their achievements in the face of adversity
