    Sexual Dysfunction and Antidepressants

    Hi There,

I was on Citalopram for a couple of weeks for my anxiety, but stopped them due to the side effects. Primarily constant hunger and inability to reach orgasm. I went to see my GP and he has put me on Fluoxetine. I've only taken 2, but already I am having trouble reaching orgasm! This is not good as I want to try for another baby with my wife. I know that some of the side effects (nausea etc) usually wear off after a week or 2. Can the same be said of the sexual issues or are they here to stay? I'd be really interested to know your thoughts on this.

    Thanks,

    Dan

    Hey Dan,

These side effects have hit me pretty hard in the past, too, especially when I was trying out SSRIs. They did start getting better after about two weeks, hope they do for you!

When I started on Citalopram 20mg i had this problem too, after 2 weeks the orgasms "came" back to life.

Today my doc has upped my dose so lets see what happens!
