    Early days yet but .....

I just took tablet number 9 last night (15mg). Its early days yet but just wondering if I will need to increase the dose. I am seeing doc on Thurs by which point I will have been taking it for 2 weeks. I have had no side effects, except for the first night where it knocked me out, but now nothing, feel just the same as before, not eating, sleeping and, just the same anxiousness.

I know I cant expect overnight results but I'm wondering if the dose is not high enough for me. I'm thinking that as I've not had any side effects like everyone else seems to have, that its not working at this level. Or will I start to pick up in a few weeks. Help!

    Hi Humly,

15mg is a very low dose of mirtazipine and I would guess your GP will up your dose to 30mg. This med is one of the ones with the least in side effects so you just may be lucky in terms of not experiencing any!! I think it is still early days for you to see much in terms of improvement as this can take a while.

It is frustrating I know as you just want to get better but these things take time and I am sure with a couple more weeks you should start to notice a difference.

30-45mg is the thereputic dose on Mirtazipine, so they say on here.

    Hope you feel better soon.

    Jo.x
