    Doing the opposite -

I panicked in traffic this monring but instead of rushing thru the traffic lights making sure I get through on Green, I did the opposite and drove slowly to try and catch the red.

In the supermarket when my heart started to race and I wanted to rush out I slowed down instead and took my time choosing food even when my eyes were blurry.

I kinda trying to trick my anxiety and do the opposite of what it wants from me. Does that make sense?

    Well done Ambers

I am trying to do the same, at work yesterday I had to minute a meeting and before I went into the meeting my anxiety was quite high and I thought I could ask one of my colleagues to cover me or I can face this out... I went into the meeting and slowly calmed down and managed to get through it and felt quite proud of myself afterwards.

I think these little things are great achievements.

I disagree, as having the courage to do the opposite to what the anxiety is telling you to do, is pretty good stuff. Be kind to yourself !

WELL DONE ! both of you...
it does work slowly but surely it will change your thoughts.
it is the right thing to do...and you should feel very proud when you manage to stick it out.
i know when we do things like this it makes us tired too but it will be worth it.

Well done - you have got the idea of not letting it get to you !! It will be a battle but you have proved that you can do it and once your brain gets the idea that you can carry on through the symptoms, the symptoms will lessen.
