Unhappy Is this a panic attack? Scared :(

Had a really busy and stressful day today, all three kids were asleep early so I went to bed and read for a bit, with the footy on in the back ground as my hubby is watching it down stairs, I knew if I drifted off I would soon wake feeling panicky! Well I have now, felt really hot and my heart felt like its beating out my chest, went down to the fridge and got a bottle of water. Don't wanna go down and worry my husbands doesnt: help that we not long had our dinner so feel sick too :( im scared to go back to sleep now.... But im knackered

It sounds more like Anxiety than an actual panic attack to me to be honest.

Concentrate on your breathing and it will pass soon enough

I agree, Partial sleep or light REM sleep is great for inducing anxiety or having mild dream like states. This happens to me if I am drifting in and out of sleep on the sofa. Sometimes I think "This is it". Still here!! and still have them. If you have sleep make sure its not just a nap go for the full thing or avoid it.

    Have fun.

thanks so much for your replys, they make so much sense. iv suffered with gad ocd and ha for as long as i can remember. it comes back every so often. but when you talk about dream like states you are spot on. actually you are spot on with everything you said. i get this quite a lot when i wake up a couple of hours after dropping off but I'm still dreaming and its probably one of the worst, scary anx symptoms i get. thank you so much for replying last night
