Have any of you recovered from depression but once it's been put down in your medical notes that you've had it, then everything you see the doctor for in the future is put down to depression?

Yes I am recovered from it.
They put most of my issues down to anxiety so a similar thing I guess.

I have anxiety but i suspect i'm depressed too. I've seen a doctor and told her about the anxiety but didn't mention how depressed i feel. I'm worried that if i admit to it and it goes in my medical notes that every illness i have in the future will be put down to depression too. This happened to my mum for many years when she had bad back pains. After many years of being told to see a spychiatrist the hospital now say she has a back problem and are going to operate on her.
I wondered if any one else has had a similar experience
Hi cloudy I fully agree with you on that, I have had depression and anxiety for years on and off and it annoys me so much when I se the doctor about a complaint they always seem to brush you off and say its due to the anxiety and depression. Surely they must know that people with anxiety and depression can get other illnesses just like everyone ells, Take care Vernon
I have just had an inner ear infection. The syptoms were very much like the ones with anxiety. Dizziness, feeling sick, feeling of unreality. My husband finally called the Dr. and she came out to see me. I was sure it was because of the meds that I am coming off, but she said no it was all down to the infection. Apparently this virus is doing the rounds at the moment where we live. So I was glad she checked me over rather than just saying 'keep taking the tablets'
Nice to see you back Vern xx
