One half of stool totally smooth + blood, the other half hard and lumpy

    (sorry if TMI)

I have no idea what's going on with my bowels at the moment, I just went to the toilet and one half was totally smooth and soft but with bright red blood on it and the other half of the stool was hard and lumpy with not much blood. I did take the stool apart and couldn't see any blood inside of it.

There was no blood when wiping which again leaves me really confused. Could this just be hemorrhoids from all the straining?

The bleeding doesn't seem to be constant that I've noticed, it's only there from time to time over the last few weeks. I did mention it a week or so ago and they didn't seem concerned. They said due to the IBS-C it's most likely internal piles.
