    For the ladies only!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just woundering if any other ladies can relate to my problem.

Just before my period my anxiety is sky high i cant even leave the house, it usually only lasts a day or so just before but i can be fine for the days leading up to it and after.

To me for years i was convinced it was a woman thing, and it was just hormones that made me feel like this, but obviously i know now it isnt.

My doctor says i am too young for the change although i am going to ask for the test.

    Any advise please.

    Many thanks suzanne

    Hi Suzanne

Sorry to hear you are like this before a period, its a pain, isnt it.
You are right asking the doc for the test to see if you are going through the change. I had this done after my first pa, but was not. My friend started going through the change when she was only 30, so it is possible.

May I ask, are you on the pill. I did notice that for me. I had to come off the pill because of my age and I smoke, after a few months I felt a little better. These days I have times when I feel terrible and times when I'm ok. I do put this down to my body changing and a pore diet, which I'm going to change and start to eat more healthy.

I do hope you can sort things out.

    Hi Suzanne,

You could be in whats called perimenopause which is the beginning of the change. It causes all sorts of symptoms one of which is anxiety. I would get your hormones tested the only problem is they fluctuate from day to day. You will know more when you speak to your doctor. Good luck.

HI I can sympathise with you, since last september i have felt my anxiety levels getting worse and worse, i had the Crisis team out to see me in january as i just couldnt cope!! i suggested to then could it be menopause, i had been thinking for a while what if it homone imbalance thats making me crazy.......anyway i had blood test and i was in menopause, i had only missed 2 periods but it was happening. I am hot of HRT patch and i feel no better other than i dont suffer hot flushes.
But i feel the Anxiety is just getting worse and worse with each week that passes. im also agoraphobic as my world has over the past 8/9 years shrunk, but now i dont even feel safe in my own home.

    regards
    Claire

    Hi Suzanne

I know the feeling, I am just like you. I suggested to my GP that it could be the perimenopause with me and she said I was too young ( I was 43 at the time) which is a load of c**p.
I am convinced mine is hormonal but feel to anxious to have a blood test.

    Take care

    Hi Suzanne

Well if you find that you're not going through the change (I notice you say its been going on for years so possibly not??) some reassurance to the other- I have been panicky more than usual last 2 days and came on my period today. I never realised the link before but when I think back I definately am more edgy- think I get it in place of PMT!
    Take care
