    Dizziness

18 months ago i started to suffer with mild vertigo attacks. These just seem to come out of the blue for no apparent reason (i do suffer with classic migranes, but don't feel that this is connected)
Some of these attacks seem to have happened to me whilst on holiday, both in this country and abroad, so i don't feel that flying is causing the problem. e.g ears. Subsiquently i have become terrifed of going on holiday anywhere incase the dizziness happens. i have been to the doctors and an ENT specialist who can find no apparent cause. i have also had an MRI scan which is also clear.
My fear is that when i have one of these attacks which last up to 5 hours that it will not go away. Can anyone help with my terror of dizziness?

    Thanks in advance, Fiona

    Hi Fiona,

Dizzyness is a classic Anxiety Symptom, i get it everyday when i am away from home, and sometimes can last for hours, do you get dizzyness just when you are on holiday?

    Hi Andrea

No my dizziness just seems to happpen randomly and is worse when i am having an attack if i look up or down or left to right. i have to keep my eyes focused on the horizon until it passes as it feels like i'm falling over. And it's the fact that it can come from out of nowhere that i am finding hard to cope with as i am never sure when or where it'll strike

    Hi fiona
I get vertigo and dizziness and I know how scary it is when it hits out of the blue. I have an ear problem ie I have been deaf in my left ear for over a year now and it causes me to feel I will keel over from time to time - Ive given up worrying about it and just live with it - its the sudden sensation of dizziness I hate but I just try to geton with other stuff or sit down for a while til it passes. My main problem is hyperventilation when I panic!! Good luck and hang on in there. love wenjoy x

    Hi Fiona

I get dizziness with vertigo when I am anxious. But not any other time. When on holiday I was feeling anxious about a long walk away from the car along a cliff path to the beach, and it being a long way to get back to somewhere safe.

That started my anxiety and I was so dizzy and disorientated on the beach I had to sit down and look at the floor. I was concentrating on looking at the pebbles for a while. Every time I looked up (to where my husband was with our daughter) I felt dizzy and couldn't focus again. After about 30 minutes it eased off a bit, it seemed like forever at the time.

Its definitely a symptom I get with the anxiety though. I'm not sure why. Maybe its something to do with the adrenaline rushing around your body with no-where to go?
