A Health Anxiety Sufferer's Guide to Survival, in verse. Enjoy!

No more panic I hear you say,
Perhaps, until I wake up the following day!
Yesterday I diagnosed a tumour in my head
Today, I'm dying, can't move from my bed!
This health anxiety is a troublesome beast
He hits you when you expect him least.
He creeps up from behind and there he lingers
Whilst you bite the nails on your trembling fingers.
He feeds on adrenalin and gastric juice
He's always to blame for this mental abuse.
He's a disease who claims to make me insane
He's an aneurysm who takes control of my brain.
Poking and prodding an ominous lump
Should this gland be raised in a bump?
Reaching for Google, my informative friend
Type in my symptom and then I press send.
Feck me! It's inoperable cancer I've got!
And the doctor told me it was only a spot!
And that's when I have a full panic attack
I reach for my phone and call the doc back!
A second opinion I really must find,
I know what she's thinking, it's all in my mind!
But treating my spot is not what I need,
Or searching for websites I feel I must read
My doctor can help me acknowledge my fears,
Treating my anxiety to dry up my tears.
No longer a slave to my thoughts will I be
Some CBT and a healthier me!

Been feeling pretty down past few weeks with my fears and my doctors appointment tomorrow. This made me laugh and cheered me up a bit. Thank you.
