    English hot July!

Although I adore hot weather and love having a tan, does anyone else get anxiety the second they see a perfect weather forecast?

I think it's that feeling that you should be out there having a great time, smiling, drinking, socialising etc.

    Twisted but anyone get it?

I've seen we have this beautiful weather coming and although I'm glad, I'm equally nervous!

When i see the weather is set to be hot..and see the sunshine.i feel depressed althogh i love the sun,it justmakes me feel i should be with my family in the garden or out on a trip with them, stoping at a pub for a drink.and when i see or just hear kids laughing it makes me think of all the times i would be hanging out with my own kids doing stuff.we always did more when the sun came out and i loved being at home with my family....i feel all this because i lost my family because of depresion and anxiety 4 months ago

I hate it because there's a lot of women around not wearing much and it's compounding the misery of being single and not getting any.

Thank you for this post! I always feel like this but it always feels like I'm the only one, and I'm the only one in the world not out enjoying the sun! It makes me feel really bad

I think it's more common than we realised. It's strange isn't it, the sun puts 'everyone' in a good mood and although I concur with this, I do find my anxiety heightens. Mine isn't connected or associated with anything but just a general feeling of what I think I 'should' be doing. It's also the word 'barbeque'.

Why is it that the moment the sun comes out, everyone says three words! Barbecue/Beer Garden!!!

    Same here!

All day my work colleagues have been talking about their plans for the weekend ahead, where they are going to go, who they are going to see... When I know I will most likely spend the weekend indoors, like a crazy old recluse... Which I probably am!

It's so embarrassing when people ask me what my plans are. I either avoid giving a direct answer or make something up.

And then Monday morning everyone will be glowing after their weekend in the sunshine while I'm still pale as a ghost.

I get it. I try hard to always go for a walk every day or do something outside. When the weather is indifferent I find it easier than when it's nice. Don't worry about feeling obliged to "enjoy" the good weather. . There's no obligation to be socialising etc. You do your own thing..... And maybe one day, when you are feeling better... Or you are getting there.... Perhaps you will begin to find the good weather more pleasurable and something you are able to enjoy more.

Oh, I meant to say that when I was feeling my worst, particularly last year, call through the summer I struggled, I really did. But having worked in it, I am now in a position to enjoy the weather. And I don't feel any obligation whatsoever to people please or socialise etc. I do what I want to do. If I choose to go out when it's nice and exercise or whatever fine. If I decide the outside world isn't for me on a particular day, then I might do indoor stuff. Still keeping busy. But it's my choice and I am happy about that.

Yeah I totally understand this, the sun whilst being lovely does bring an added pressure to be more outgoing, or if you stay indoors you start feeling guilty putting it down to your anxiety.
