    Breathing?

Does anyone ever feel like they can't get enough air in their system or they're struggling to breathe?

As if you need to take either deep breaths, or yawn like constantly until you get a headache and feel light headed?

I used to get this every so often with anxiety but it was never this bad, and lately it seems to be happening every day, and all day. Anyone got any strategies to stop it because relaxing doesn't help and I think the only time I'm not suffering is when I'm asleep

    Any advice?

    Hi LuSmith

If you feel that you can't get enough air in its quite likely you aren't letting enough air out first. This is very common if you are tense and chest/shallow breathing. Try to relax and breathe from your tummy, making sure that you really do breathe out all the air before you breathe in.

    Best wishes x

I get this a lot too. Sighing and yawning to get the air in. Relaxation doesn't help me either! As long as you are tense and anxious it will be there because the tension is causing the chest muscles to spasm (Dr Claire Weekes) and for you not to be able to expand your chest enough to get the air that you think you need. Some suggest breathing into a paper bag and re-breathing the same air but I've never tried that, have you? Other than that I can't help but wanted you to know that you are not alone with this.
