the point you make flatterycat about if you were off with a broken arm or something is so true.
When I do go out I am so nervous that someone will see me and judge me for looking well. ie there's nothing wrong with her. I think it is partly due to my anxiety and partly due to the misunderstanding of anxiety an/or depression.

I left work in April through feeling guilty of not being able to attend everyday and not being able to do my job properly, it was a mistake. My GP had signed me off for 3 months - I should not have handed in my notice. My anxiety at the time was so bad and I could not deal with the guilt of not going to work. My previous employers had the view that depression was self indulgent and you just got on with it. I am still not ready for work but I now wish that I hadn't packed in my job. I have never had to say to anyone before I don't have a job! So please take this time from work to get better and be kind to yourself.
