    Setraline withdrawals....

Ive had a dip this last 7-10 days, its quite severe.
A lot going on in my life right now, a lot of good stuff, but also stressful at the same time.
Meeting a girl, starting a relationship, 2 big cycles I've put a lot of physical and emotional effort into, and soon to leave my job of 14 years.
Having been on Setraline nearly 1.5 years, I decided I'd try get off it this summer, as its a good time to do so, with the sunshine, long days and the fact I'd be exercising a lot and getting the endorphins from that.
I didn't take a managed approach, I simply went down from 50mg to 25mg, and had a bunch of days without any over the last probably 6-7 weeks. I wish I'd a diary of it so I could see exactly what I've been taking, as it would help me build a picture. But I've nothing, I just know that over that period, my intake has gone way, way down.
So Im hoping my current low is as a result of that. Really hoping.
Anyone got experience coming off this stuff?
As a result of the low, I'm now back no 50mg for a 6 days. Hoping I start to notice an improvement soon.

    Hi

This is just a courtesy reply to let you know that your post was moved from its original place to a sub-forum that is more relevant to your problem.

This is nothing personal - it just enables us to keep posts about the same problems in the relevant forums so other members with any experience with the issues can find them more easily.

    Re: Setraline withdrawals....

Hi Scared Ter. Reading your post, I think that your current low mood is a withdrawal symptom. It's up to you to judge whether it warrants going back on it again long-term, but as you've also said, you have a lot going on right now and, to me, it seems that whether you're on Sert or not your mood is likely to be affected anyway.

Perhaps when you feel a bit better you could start to taper again, bearing in mind that low mood can be part of the withdrawal process and that it usually improves after a while. However, I think you tapered too quickly this time. When I came off Paroxetine, I was down to 5mg (from 20mg a day) for a few weeks before I stopped completely.

Good luck and hope that helps.
