I have suffered from anxiety and depression for about 20 years on and off.

I have been on Sertraline for about 4.5 years - I have been on 50mg for a while and recently started to feel unwell again, so 3 days ago the GP upped my dose to 100mg.
I don't feel much better yet, but do have a dry mouth, loss of appetite and generally feel a bit spaced out which I did experience when I first started. I am hoping that having the side effects is a good sign and means this dose will work soon!

I was wondering how long it will take to feel better?

When I felt unwell in 2011, I was prescribed paroxetine/fluoxetine? Which made me feel awful, so the GP switched me to Sertraline.

I think I started on 100mg (it was a while ago I can't remember)
I felt ok again after about 5 weeks, and have been pretty much ok since then.

For the past few weeks I have felt worse, almost back to where I started (but not quite as bad), hence the GP upping my dose last week.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Will it get better?

I haven't had any counselling, but would like to try CBT.

Thanks in advance!
