Re: Best songs about anxiety-related mental disorders
White Lies - Death - this song is about fear of flying. "Yes this fear's got a hold on me"
The National - Afraid of Everyone - it's a sad song but I can relate to it sometimes. "I don't have the drugs to sort it out"
Pulp - The Fear
"And when you're no longer searching for beauty or love
Just some kind of life with the edges taken off
When you can't even define what it is that you are frightened of
This song will be here"
Editors - Well Worn Hand - this is a song about fear of dying, it's very sad.
Take my well worn hand
Let's lock ourselves away
We'll never, ever step outside
We'll curl up in a ball and hide
I don't want to go out on my own anymore
I can't face the night like I used to before
I don't want to go out on my own anymore
I can't face the night like I used to before
Radiohead - No Surprises seems to be about a general feeling of unhappiness but for me the line "No alarms and no surprises please" makes me think of generalised anxiety because I am very jumpy and hate things that are unpredictable.
Frightened Rabbit - The Woodpile is about social anxiety. The band's name is about the lead singer's social anxiety too.
Bereft of all social charms
Struck dumb by the hand of fear
I fall into the corner's arms
The same way that I've done for years
I've got playlists about anxiety, depression and medication. Is that weird?
