    Found hard lump in neck

Hi guys. I found a lump on my neck 4 days ago. It's right in the middle, just over where my voice box is. It's pea sized and hard, moves around when I touch it so it's not attached to anything but underneath I guess. It feels like it's just under my skin. I don't think lymph nodes are right in the middle of the neck, just at the sides?

I've also had a slightly hoarse voice for a couple weeks now, not sore or dry, just a bit mucus-y. I'm really scared because of where the lump is located and because it's hard rather than soft.

I don't want to wind myself up searching google forever so I'm wondering if anyone has any experiences with anything similar? I'm terrified of seeing a doctor especially since I'm not at home right now and don't speak the language here very well, but won't be home for weeks yet. I'm 21 years old if that makes much difference.

I'm a female and don't have an adam's apple. Pretty sure I would have noticed it before 4 days ago.

It's a lump that's not supposed to be there, small and hard and moves around like I said. Did you read my post at all or just the title...?

I read your post, but where in your post does it say what gender you are?

Go and see a doctor. This site isn't a replacement for medical advice.

My gender is set in my profile, although regardless of gender what I described does not resemble adam's apple in any case. I wasn't asking for medical advice, I asked if anyone had similar experiences to mine. From other threads I've seen you seem to have a habit of leaving awkward comments to people's posts, standoffish even, do a great job of winding people up further when they're already troubled. Good stuff.

Hyoid bone from what you describe. Hard, near the larynx, mobile.
