Stopped diazepam 18 days ago. Need some support .............

I'm 7mths free now but anxiety very bad at the moment as stuck in Florida with my daughter and hurricane irma due to hit soon. Waiting to be evacuated back to the uk later tonight.

Thanks autumn I made it home in one piece but it certainly tested my anxiety!!!
No flights to england so I flew into Scotland and needed to get 2 trains and 3 taxis to finally get home. Very tiring.

Anyhow how are you feeling on the 3 mg diazepam now? Hope your doing ok xx

Glad you made it back ok despite all the different forms of transport - well done !!
Ive stayed on 4mg still as been feeling very nauseas.

Yes stay on the 4mg until you feel ready to reduce again. Are you taking 2mg am and 2mg pm?

For the nausea try ginger tea, it really helps settle your stomach. I still drink it now.

Yes nausea can be a withdrawal effect, is that the only symptom you have? How long have you just been on the 4mg for? I personally found the last 2mg the hardest to come off. I reduced slowly from 2mg to 1mg held for 2 weeks then 1mg to 0.5mg held for another 2 weeks then tried to break the tablet even smaller into 0.25mg which was messy and probably not accurate and then stopped after 2 weeks. X

I'm sorry to hear you are having such a terrible time. Doctors in the states won't even prescribe this drug due to its addictive properties. Stay strong, you will get through this.

I really cannot understand why benzos are prescribed on a regular basis by psychiatrists for anxiety. I feel really sorry for people who continue to take them in blind faith and then end up in such a desperate state when they try to withdraw. I admire you all for going through this torture and coming out the other side.

I really don't see the need to stop taking them.
For me they work well and cause no problems.
