My anxiety and depersonalisation has lasted for 16 years.
I hope things improve for you soon. Venlafaxine has helped reduce dp symptoms for me as well as Rivotril.

I can't say for sure, but what I think triggered it for me was the death of two family members in the space of 6 months, and my inability to cope with the idea of them not being present in my life any more. I'm working on my issues with separation in therapy, though.

It could have definitely been a contributing factor. I'm sorry to hear about your parents' divorce... Big changes are always stressful, whether they're good or bad. I hope your anxiety/depersonalisation improves soon.

Thank you and yeah I moved away from home at the same time too so maybe all that together brought out the anxiety

    Re: Is it normal?

It may have played a part in the anxiety, yes. Just give yourself some time to adapt to the new situation and to settle in. In a way, dp is an escape from life from reality, so being able to make that reality a pleasant one (as much as this is possible) from which your mind won't want to escape by simulating feelings of non-existence is important for your overall well-being. I've been attempting to do the very thing through therapy.

Thank you, do you think it's a normal thing to go through then?

Do you get lightheaded/foggy or blurred vision from this?
