    Constantly Scared

    Hi all,

I haven't posted in a while but I've been having a harder time dealing with anxiety lately.

I had a lab test done a few weeks ago which showed something a little abnormal (High protein level). The doctor does not seem to be concerned about it and just asked that I retest in about a month. I'm a little nervous about it, and actually googled my lab result which scared me even more. I don't know if its all in my head but I'm feeling some of the weirdest symptoms.

I could use some help and support from all. Thanks!

Hi Banana, Its very common to be scared with us anxiouse people and its so true that when everything dont go 100% right with tests we over worry and this causes all sorts of aches pains and weired feelings, its all anxiety and I have been there so many times. Dont look up or google symptoms becouse no matter what the symptom is seems to show a bad illness. Try not to worry about things and keep telling yourself you are ok and in good health, the brain beleives what we tell it. I have ruined so many years of my life worrying and here I am at 58 and still around, so all the worry and anxiety was for nothing? take care hope you feel better soon. Vernon

    Hi,

I had some blood tests a few years ago which showed a low sodium level. Of course I googled this (something I would NEVER do now) which said it could be a sign of cancer and I freaked! Yet here I am 6 years later still alive and well having had normal sodium levels since.
Your slightly raised protein level sounds like a blip - normal for your body at that particular time and will be normal when they next check. It sounds as though your GP is not at all concerned which means anything else tested at that point was normal. Try not to get yourself too anxious (easier said than done as I know only too well).

I had low calcium levels after an op - sorted itself out after a few weeks. I wish it had been explained to me though because I worried about it a lot. If it was anything significant the doctor would refer you to a specialist.
