Starting Sertraline/Zoloft. Really anxious on day 1

    Hey there,

After being diagnosed with GAD and moderate depression, I've taken Prozac/Fluoxetine at regular intervals in the past three years. However, after six months without SSRI's, my Doctor has prescribed me Sertraline after a relapse in symptoms.

I took it last night, and couldn't sleep as my legs were so restless and I felt agitated and anxious. I'm a skinny guy anyway, but I've taken it today and I feel like I have completely no appetite.

Are these normal symptoms with this medication? I know with fluoxetine I had similar side effects but does anyone know how long these things last?

    Hiya,

I know these things differ with everyone but these side effects seem to be pretty common. Especially the insomnia.

I'm on week 6 on sertraline and the only real side effect I seem to have still is fatigue and a twitchy eye?!!? The twitchy eye might not even be related to the sertraline but im assuming it is?! In the first couple of weeks I had nausea, headaches, upset belly, twitching, insomnia, increased anxiety - fun times!

Id say all in all i'm defo better off 6 weeks in, but doc did tell me side effects can last months something
Hope you start feeling better soon x

i find it difficult to start sertraline. It gets worse before it gets better. I have to start at a very low dose and taper up slowly or I feel like jumping out of my skin.
