So have these 2 "knots" developed in the last 2 weeks since the NP said both breasts felt "full"?

Same thought in my head; the 'knots' if that's how she described them don't sound like she is talking about 'lumps'. If that is the phrase she used, and they have appeared since both breasts felt 'full' then....hmmmm......I don't know.
Don't panic !!! It is terrifying, I know, but please hold onto your mental resilience if you can, everything WILL be ok (even if they find something that needs treating). Don't start trotting through researching bc sites, especially not your US one (breast cancer org) its quite a heavy duty site and will make you scared.

Carys can I ask you a quick question? And meant2live I am so sorry and don't mean to hijack your thread at all, it's just I have not gotten a lot of feedback on my post.
If someone had IBC they would not also have itching and redness on other parts of the body right? (Back, ribcage, stomach, backs of knees.) And if someone had IBC "pimples" those would not clear up like normal tiny pimples but would remain and get worse, correct? I don't want to google and I am trying to get over an awful anxiety flare. (Period arriving four days early with insane PMS anxiety so at least that adds to the "hormones" theory for me.)
meant2live, I find it really questionable that two lumps would be missed on your recent exam and then pop up soon after... Also the word "knot" really makes me think normal dense tissue/ducts/glands. Also I know we can get temporary "lumps" while PMSing when hormones are high and we're retaining water.
I don’t know why the NP at my GP didn’t feel them, or if they showed up after. I can’t say.
The NP I saw today seemed to do a more aggressive manual exam than the other. When she pushed on the areas with the “knots,” they did hurt.
She said knots, but the order says lumps.
Her title says APRN-CNP. She is listed a Family Care Nurse.
As a side note, I am on my period currently.
Hiyer. Gosh, I've given the impression I'm some sort of expert - I'm really not - just a BC forum user. However, since you ask, as a lay-person and from reading of others with IBC and their symptoms (and reading literature on it);If someone had IBC they would not also have itching and redness on other parts of the body right? (Back, ribcage, stomach, backs of knees.) And if someone had IBC "pimples" those would not clear up like normal tiny pimples but would remain and get worse, correct?
You are correct I believe, you would NOT have symptoms everywhere else and the spots would not clear up. There are 7or 8 signs listed as main IBC signs and none of them related to back, ribcage, stomach or knees lol The armpit could be included, but you didn't mention that.

Wildly swinging emotions happen at times like this, it's natural. Your mind will be searching for answers, the human brain searches to know the facts and at the moment you don't have them - so you will find yourself going between 'it is X' to 'it isn't X'. Waiting to get the necessary tests done is psychological agony, the very hardest thing. I hope the other place can get you in sooner, for your own peace of mind, as the waiting it tough.I’m kind of in a daze right now. I have moments when I start crying and others when I’m just trying to stay calm.
Thanks so much for humoring me, Carys. Armpits have itched very mildly but nothing out of the ordinary for me with my sensitive skin, shaving etc. The main part is my sides and back but sometimes I'll get a flare on various parts of either breast that lasts for like 20-30 minutes and then calms down. It is constantly clearing up and moving around and reappearing. I just need to accept that I'm having an allergic reaction to something I ate or put on my skin. When I wear a bra it gets really irritated around the band on my sides. Sigh.

Meant2live did you ask them to put you down in case of any cancellations at the first place?
Before you go down the IBC route, a bruise could be from you poking and prodding. I was 20 weeks pregnant when I noticed a LARGE purple, green, blue bruise on my left breast. It covered almost the entire side of my breast. I googled and I cried hysterically thinking I was going to be a rare case of IBC while pregnant and choose to carry to term and refuse treatment so my baby could live, or be deemed selfish and fight to live. I was horrified. I had an ultrasound since you shouldn’t do a mammogram when pregnant and guess what-NOTHING. They couldn’t explain it. I came back 3 months later for a follow up, all clear, it ended up being just a bruise. I still can’t explain how I got it, it faded and hasn’t come back. I do have stretch marks that sometimes resemble bruises and look kind of like cold skin looks (purpley and reddish.)
I’m not sure what caused it because I haven’t been prodding it. Honestly, I avoid touching my breasts as much as possible for fear of what I might find.
I truly hope it’s nothing sinister. I just can’t say until the imaging is done. The earliest I can get in is March 19th. The other place didn’t have openings until after that.
