because theyll say go for an mri amd I'm so scared

haven't had a chat with midwife properly, haven't haf regular appts until 1st scan. I've researched that some oregnant women do get phantom smells and heightened smell is very very common but the tumor worry still lingers.

My appt with one midwife (to have history chat) mentioned heightened sense of smell but don't tell her my worry.

If you tell the midwives at the hospital at any one of your many appointments that you have a history of anxiety or any sort of mental health issues, they will offer to refer you to their perinatal mental health team. They can advise you and refer you for any treatment throughout your pregnancy. Why not do this? But don't just tell them about/hide behind this latest phantom smell fear, so that they tell you about heightened sense of smell during pregnancy. This is not a physical issue Helen. Tell them that this is the latest in years and years of obsessive HA issues that have dramatically impacted on your life and relationships.

But its not a given that they'll send you for an mri. ..that's just you jumping to conclusions. Look, your doctors and the midwives will have read your history...mental health-wise or otherwise, and if there was a any doubt whatsoever that these smells, phanthom or real, were a direct result of a brain tumour they'd have sent you for tests a long time ago.

But as has been suggested, an ENT specialist would be able to discuss all things nasal with you...sinuses can do very strange things to our sense of smell too remember. You have to start sorting it out somewhere, so why not start there.

No because if im that honest they'll get social services in volved. I want these smells to be real and not phantom.

Ansty, is it a possibility? I've been so bored all day, playing with nose and noticed it more. I think.
