Have both main symptoms for tonsil cancer

Which are - one swollen tonsil (one bigger than the other) and persistent sore throat. I've had both of these now for 11 weeks. Have to wait 14 weeks for a referral to ENT (this is supposed to be urgent!)

I'm so worried it's cancer caused by HPV as I've just had cervical treatment for severe abnormalities caused by HPV ! I know it can't be anything else.

I've enquired about a private ENT consultation but it's almost £200 and that's before they even have a look.

I'm so miserable and worried.

If i hear the symptoms swollen tonsil and sore throat then my first and only thought is Tonsilitis.....why is it you are thinking tonsil cancer and not just tonsilitis?

Because I read that tonsilitis affects both tonsils and usually lasts 2 weeks at the most but my right tonsil is huge and swollen and at one point had ulcers on it. I can't even see my left tonsil. The sore throat is driving me mad too. Its not silent reflux or glandular fever and antibiotics didn't work :(

No one can really help in this medium. It's up to you to be your own advocate sometimes. What has your doctor said?

We say this a lot here. If they thought it was urgent, you would have been put on a fast track. If you're that concerned, perhaps a conversation with your doctor would be in order.

And btw... Women can be tested for HPV.

I already know I have HPV from the cervical thing.

I've got this and have done for at least a decade, I put it down to having glandular fever really bad when younger also sinus problems making my throat sore.

I honestly thought I had glandular fever as felt so run down for weeks now but blood test was negative.
