changing meds from citalopram to prozac

Title says it really. I am going from max dose of citalopram to min dose of prozac. The change doesn't worry me but it is surely odd to change from max dose of an ssri to a min dose of ssri?
I am scared it knocks me off again.

Any experiences?

Hiya,

I do know that the dosage for each type of ssri is different so maybe the minimum dose of prozac would be equal to the maximum dose of citalopram

You don't say what your actual doses are but it looks as though the standard dose for Prozac seems to be in the same range as Citalopram, 20-40mg. Also from what I've read a straight swap doesn't usually cause any problems.

But you really need to ask your Doctor why.

I am going from 60mg citalopram which is max dose to 20mg of prozac. Max dose of prozac is 80mg.
I might phone up later. On saying that, I so far feel fine. (only been one day ) I am quite happy for it to be like this, it makes me feel a bit less wacky to be on a standard dose !
I am sure he knows what he is doing! (well........nearly sure!)
