ringing in ears, blind spots, visual/audio disturb

    hello all,
i began having these attacks about 8 mos ago, i was convinced i was having a heart attack or stroke until the second time i wound up in the emergency room certain i was hours away from death. thats when i first heard the term panic attack. they come on with no warning, although usually when alone, and the first sign is a ringing in my ears followed by visual disturbance, being hot and flushed, pounding audible heartbeat, and numbness to face, hands, and feet. naturally, even though i know its a panic attack, i am always sure that this time its the big one - heart attack or stroke. eventually they go away, but lately ive been noticing flashing spots and minor symptoms throughout the course of the day. i was just wondering if anyone else had similar symptoms, this whole thing is scary. i was always pretty calm, and i dont have any triggers. it just comes. i would appreciate any feedback, support, or information. thanks, marc

    Hi Marc

    Welcome aboard the forum.

The flashing spots are very common with anxiety, and will go in time. Do you manage to do any relaxation or exercise atall?

    Hi Marc

I like you have had all of these symptoms, especially at the height of my anxiety. Have yoy tried any relaxation techniques like a cd or a long soak in a warm lavender oil bath. They do help- try not to worry too much as they do eventually go, it's only the hot flushes I really get now, could be my age though, lol !!

    Take care

On seeing those symptoms I would have diagnosed you as suffering from Migraine headaches.

It is only when you take into account the other symptoms aswell

That the words panic attack spring to mind.

Mr panic is a master mimmick and throws up allsorts of symptoms and they can be quite scary.

I've had the hot flushes, pounding heart and black spots before the eyes.
I found the best way to get rid of them was to have a sip of cold water and breathe deeply.

I found this site back is August last year and now I am alot better,
in the past 2 weeks I have been 100% better,[^] and itsl all down
to this site and the special people on here.
With alot of hard work support and time you too CAN learn how
to feel better, you have come to the right place,
there are lots of nice people here who will help and support you.
