Yesterday I took 25mg in the morning and then 25mg in the evening in order to switch to taking it at night. Today I have felt dreadful with weakness and fatigue all day so far. Do you think this could have been that i actually doubled the dose in 24 hours.

Ye seems like you took 50mg in 1 day so probably had some side effects from that

My doctor has now taken me off sertraline due to the extreme side effects. I was only on 25mg for 8 days. This is my 2nd day of coming off and I still feel tired, although not as bad, and still have stomach upset and little appetite. Even though I was only taking if for a short time do you think it will take a few days for these symptoms to abate until it is out of my system.

It typically takes 5-6 days for sertraline to be completely metabolised and eliminated but the side-effects usually diminish sooner. You will likely notice a significant reduction in their severity by the end of day 3.
