    Positive FIT test

    Hello everyone

Have just had to do a positive FIT test due to diarrhoea symptoms and low sodium blood test.

Does anyone know if I positive result means you have bowel cancer.

This has sent my anxiety over the wall.

Have to wait 7 working days for the result.

    Re: Positive FIT test

There are any number of things that could cause these symptoms, and cancer is actually a relatively unlikely possibility.

    Re: Positive FIT test

No a positive FIT doesn't automatically mean cancer. All it means is that there is some blood in your stools which could be from any number of benign causes ( hemorrhoids, inflammation, ulcers, even swallowed blood if you've had a blood nose or a little bit of bleeding while flossing etc...).
