Recently I read a book called The Instinct to Heal: Curing Stress, Anxiety and Depression without Drugs by David Servan Schreiber,M.D.,Ph.D. It's a great book, I strongly recommend it to everyone.
In this book, the author discusses several methods to stimulate the body and mind to heal naturally. One of the methods is to increase the intake of omega 3 essential fatty acids - the so called 'fats of life'. Experiments show that these fatty acids improve the performance of the brain and can help depression, anxiety, bi-polar etc. In fact, they are great for the entire body.
