I bought myself some multi vitamins, some vitamin c, selenium and omega 3 fish oil, is it safe to take all of these as well as my normal medication? i just want to make sure as i wouldn't want to overdose myself.

Sounds fine to me.
What is your prescribed medication?
I think Vitamins are ok, but some natural remedies (like St John's Wort) should be avoided on certain medications.
If you aren't sure it would be best to check with your GP or Pharmacist.

Well the daily recommended allowance of vitamin c is 60mg but how much can you actually take? because i bought some vitamin c tablets which are 60mg and also the multi vitamins contain 60mg of vitamin c, also the selenium contains 60mg of vitamin c so that totals 180mg of vitamin c so is that ok? does anyone know.
I take 500mg of vit c a day and the only side effect I've had is less colds!! Vit C is water soluble so any excess comes out in your urine. I think it can cause upset stomach in high quantities, but the amout you're taking should be fine.
HI there,
i been taking B vitamis and vitamin c in quite high doses and magnesium for ages now because gp doesn't precribe any antidepressents except for seroxat type so had to rely on vitamis, the do help a bit and i've only ever had "the runs" which isn't pleasent but bearable
Yes vit c will only absorb what it needs the rest goes out with the waste
But if you on other meds best to check

The highest amount of Vit C you may have is 2000mg, (2Grams) a day but this might cause slight stomach upset in sensitive people.
The body cannot store Vit C and you will pass anything you cant absorb straight away.
The daily guildlines for vitimins and minerals are just to stop you from being deficient, so lets say you take 100% of the recommended amount of vit c, all this will do is stop you from being deficient, the RDA is NOT a recommended amount at all and should be changed.
None of the things you listed will interact with medicines.
Oh and the myth that st johns wort interacts with medicines is wrong, they proved this before but it still carrys the same caution just because it has done for so long.

May I ask what makes you think this? There is a lot of evidence suggesting the opposite....Oh and the myth that st johns wort interacts with medicines is wrong, they proved this before but it still carrys the same caution just because it has done for so long

If you read my post you would know why i said this, all that evidence is just a caution, because it was thought it interacted for such a long time they still say it as a caution.
If you do more research you would find statements to the opposite arguement.
Is'nt 5htp & st johns wort ment to interact? tried those, no effect.
"...Cause it's always raining in my head"
I did read your post and if you have a good look at some leading medical journal articles, and indeed warnings from the Department of Health, there is strong evidence suggesting that St John's Wort interacts with many prescription drugs.
All I ask is that you are careful in telling people to ignore drug cautions.
'If you're going through hell, keep going' (Winston Churchill)
again........and also strong arguements saying it does'nt actualy interact its just an old notion that it did.
Besides the guy is'nt even talking about st johns wort so this is pointless
