Any single mums !!! ????

Just wondered if there were any other single mums going through this ordeal by themselves with no much help fomanyone ?? i am asingle mum of one - my parents dont understand this monster and i feel very very alone - even though i plod along and i think i have done well to carry ont his long - sometimes i jsut want someone to understand you know !!

Jjeni ,hi ya im not a single mum Ive 2 adult kids, 1 9yearold kid and a partner of 20 years and i sometimes feel totally alone i thought my O.H understood until yesterday when he came out with a load of b***s*** .

panic /anxiety is hard ,its a hard life living with it ,if you really need someone to talk to ask your gp if you can go to your surgeries councillor .also give yourself a pat on the back for coping with your own self help to control your panic .

hello jeni,im a single mum to six but sadley lost my eldest son to meningitus,10 years ago on 20th march ive two older ones 31 and 25 and then theres the three younger ones 8 10 and 13 im 49 and have been on my own for almost nine years and that was only a brief relationship shortly after my son died i got pregnant he didnt want to know.its been 11 and a half years since i were married and he was a waste of space,my younger three do not see thier dads so its full time with no let up for me .its rotten lonely scary i too dont really have any help,my parents are both 79 and 80 so they cant do much to help.my ten year old and 13 year old both have dissabilities not major ones but are there and severe behavoural problems,most days i just burst into tears with it all.trying to do hosework and cook with a paper bag over my face when i get the panic come on,cant go out on my own dont drive no friends.but i keep telling myself things can only get better and that theres always people worse off.benn telling myself that for years i did meet a nice man off the internet we used to see each other at weekends and a couple of times a week and that lasted about 18 months i felt happier less panic attacks he was accepting my kids and they him he kind of understood about my nerves everything was picking up.then he had a stroke and packed me in.anyway i only intended letting you know im a single parent ive given half life story lol i hope things pick up for you,i dont know how old you are but im presuming fairly young with only have one child.best wishes linda

I'm a single mum too. I have a daughter at 19 who has also given me my first grandson, he is 8 weeks old now), I have another daughter who is 10 and my son is 7. He's a bit of a handful and has terrible tantrums, but has plenty of hugs and kisses when I need them most. I work full-time so have got my hands full a bit and don't know where I find the time for panic and anxiety lol!

I must have "loser" tattooed on my forehead because that's all I seem to get in men!! I always say "I'm sure I was Jack the Ripper in another life" with all the raw deals I have thrown at me. I do seem to come out the other side, but it usually takes me ages to get some good luck. Spending most of my spare time babysitting my lovely grandson because I don't seem to have anything else to do. I don't have any friends and I'm an only child, so there's only me and the kids really. Like a few cans of lager in the house and love cooking for the family, just wish they'd all want the same meal instead of having to cook 4 different things haha!!

hello les i just read your post you sound like you got a load on as well.congratulatins on the grandkiddy,i have six grandchildren two are older than my own kids,,i think some of us women just have it stamped on our heads to attract the wrong man,,lol. how do you go to work full time if you get panic attacks i cant even go to the shops with my parents without getting panicky,im not agoraphobic as do like to go out if im with someone but only to local shops but its still an ordeal,anyways all the best to you and your family linda

To be honest I don't know how I cope but I do. I work for 57 Councillors who just drop in at any time, and if I have a PA I just walk up and down the corridor for a bit and hope it passes! I'm on Clomipramine now which has helped a great deal so the panic seems to have subsided a lot. Don't think I'll ever be cured, but tons better than what I was before the meds.

I,m a single mum of two , a 10 years old and a 2 1/2. I do find it very hard to cope with pa. Trying to continue things as normal as possible but not being able to do lots of things. Not having any one there for me is hard.

Gosh , this is amazing .. i am a single mum of three and have been for nine years.. seems like im stuck with it too lol .... three girls 24/23/11 and 2 georgeous grandchildren 3 and 4 .. eldest is a single mu too ( seems i taught her well) it is so hard and i support her alot and have a full time job .. middle daughter is not much trouble but the 11 year old spends her life anoyiong all of us lol .. so hello all you single mums out there.

so glad i bumped into you all ... and yes... dont kid yourself .. its very hard and very lonley and even lonleyer once you realise that socialising is just too stressful and the thought of people getting to know you scares to witless !!!! so what do we do about it ?
